Heat City Recordz is an
independent label based in Las Vegas, NV. Established in
2004, Spoatymac CEO/MC decided it was time to own a label rather
then be an artist on one. The name “Heat City” came from a
knick name Spoaty gave Vegas basing it on the blazing HOT
weather.
After getting his paperwork together and
partnering with Son of Sid aka The KingPin, CEO of Seven
Records. Both companies vowed to create quality projects in
efforts to upgrade the negative image of Hip Hop in Las Vegas.
In 2005, Heat City released the highly
anticipated project “Spoaty Life” Spoatymac’s first solo
project. A CD filled with a variety of music focusing on life,
dealing with haters, and chasing paper. The album sold over
5,100 units, placing Heat City Recordz in a driver’s seat.
Immediately following Vegas’ first classic
album, Heat City/Seven Records produced “Heat City from
Undaground 2 Gangsta” a DVD/Documentary on Hip Hop in Las
Vegas. The documentary sold over 2,500 copies in Las Vegas, New
York, Arizona, Alaska, Alabama, Hawaii, and California. Giving
a face to the underground scene and creating unity amongst the
artist.
2006 was an excellent year for Heat City.
The label dropped the projects 2Sense “The Streets Ain’t Ready”
15 tracks of gangsta melodies and Spoatymac’s sophomore debut
“The Street Reporter” a musical tour through Vegas from a
native’s perspective. Both projects sold over 4,800 and
climbing.
2007 hosted the release of the labels
first compilation entitled “Rapid Fire” a Heat City Compilation. Considering the
importance of unity in the Hip Hop the album targeted several
artist in the city.
Heat City's mission is to create
quality projects to one day put Vegas on the MAP!
